SERVICE INFORMATION

Service & Regulatory Information

A plain-language summary of how Kelowna Shockwave describes its service and the public rules referenced by the business.

Service scope

Kelowna Shockwave provides in-home radial shockwave sessions for adults aged 18 and over. Services are provided by a trained shockwave technician. Kelowna Shockwave does not provide medical diagnosis and does not represent its technician as a physician, physiotherapist, chiropractor, registered massage therapist, or other regulated health professional. Medical concerns or symptoms requiring diagnosis should be discussed with an appropriate regulated healthcare professional.

British Columbia restricted activities

British Columbia’s Regulated Health Practitioners Regulation, effective April 1, 2026, identifies activities that are restricted under the Health Professions and Occupations Act. The published schedule lists making a diagnosis as a restricted activity and identifies specified hazardous-energy activities, including diagnostic or imaging ultrasound, ultrasound for lithotripsy, certain applications of electricity, magnetic resonance imaging, certain laser procedures, and X-rays. Radial shockwave is not specifically named in that restricted-activity schedule. This is a description of the published regulation, not a claim that the Province licenses, certifies, approves, or endorses Kelowna Shockwave.

Medical devices and advertising

Health Canada regulates medical devices and their advertising. Health Canada states that Class II medical devices require a medical device licence and are authorized for specific indications. Federal advertising requirements also apply to health products and medical devices advertised in Canada.

Advertising and results

Kelowna Shockwave does not guarantee a specific result. Competition Bureau guidance states that performance and efficacy claims used to promote a product or service must be supported by adequate and proper testing conducted before the claim is made.
